Richard and I are offering our personal get-away / hunting property and cabin to lease for turkey or whitetail deer hunting. We’ve owned this 120-acre property twenty-three years and built the cabin twenty years ago. This is not the farm on which we raise whitetails. You will not be hunting pen-raised animals.

2012 spring turkey hunt – four nights – up to two people - $600
2012 fall turkey hunt – four nights – up to two people - $600
2012 / 2013 archery or rifle deer hunt – one week – up to three people - $1000

This remote property, situated in the Missouri Ozarks hills, consists of hardwood timber and scattered pastures dotted with ponds. A simple, comfortable hunting cabin sets just ten feet from a running, spring-fed creek. The cabin is furnished with a table, chairs, a couch, and has two beds in the loft. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, a microwave, a hot plate, coffee maker, and cooking and eating utensils. The cabin has electricity, a wood stove, and a covered porch on the creek side. There's an electric pump that supplies water from the creek to the cabin's sinks and to the toilet. There is no tub or shower or water heater. There's a stone fire pit outside.

Our farm is home to an abundant wildlife population. Deer and wild turkeys are plentiful. There'll likely be ample opportunities for you to harvest deer or turkey on this acreage, but if you'd like to explore other spots, there are a number of Conservation Areas nearby. Just a mile away is the 1600 acre Fiery Fork Conservation Area. A little further lays 340 acre Burnt Mill Cave Conservation Area, 2400 acre Mule Shoe Conservation Area, and 7700 acre Lead Mine Conservation Area.

I created this web page to offer a hunting lease, but this peaceful, wooded location makes an ideal get-away for someone seeking a quiet retreat from a busy, everyday schedule. There's no television reception and no cell phone coverage. Here is an atmosphere of calm serenity, a quiet broken by a whippoorwill, a trickling creek, and a bluebird's warble. When it's not hunting season, Richard and I offer this retreat for $75 a night for up to four people, with a two-day minimum.
